Electrolysis:
There are several different hair removal methods currently on the market for consumers today, some are temporary methods and some are permanent. Recent advancements in laser technology have resulted in quick and relatively painless laser treatments for hair removal, but even after several laser treatments, this method can only guarantee up to 90% permanent. Those looking for a completely permanent solution to their unwanted hair problems can greatly benefit from permanent hair removal by Electrolysis at Cheryl’s.
Our Electrolysis treatment is performed with a tool called an ‘Epilator’. An epilator is a tiny surgical probe-like device that is used to actively treat each individual hair follicle by way of short impulses of energy. The electrologist performing your Electrolysis procedure will treat each hair by inserting the epilator into each individual hair follicle in order to direct an impulse of energy down to the root of the hair. Each energy pulse will cause localized damage to the treated hair follicle. When the epilator is inserted correctly it will not damage the skin; instead it will slide directly into the hair follicle alongside the hair shaft. This process is very slow and exact, but the time and care taken by the technicians at Cheryl’s ensures permanent results.
Permanent hair removal results by the Electrolysis procedure can not be completed in just one treatment, it is a weakening process. Each treatment session you undergo will cause the hairs directly treated to be disabled, but the energy impulses will stimulate new hair growth directly around the previously treated area. The newly stimulated hair will grow in finer, lighter and thinner but will need to be continually treated until its growth stops completely.
Depending on certain factors, Electrolysis treatments can take as many as four years to be successfully completed. The amount of time needed will be based on the specific area that you area having treated as well as your hair depth and density. While all other methods of hair removal are typically fast and easier, only Electrolysis can always guarantee 100% permanent hair removal results. With regularly spaced Electrolysis treatments, the removal of your unwanted hair can become a permanent reality.

** All of the above are only examples. You could multiply what your electrologist charges you times (X's) the number (#) of treatments to get a better idea of your cost. Your cost could be lower or higher depending on what your electrologist charges and what your laser facility charges.
Also waxed and tweezed hairs will need more laser treatments than someone who has not tampered with their hair.
